From Pillar to Pedal: A Builder’s Guide to the Pedal Harp

I started this repository because, unlike lever harps, it's surprisingly difficult to find clear, practical information on building pedal harps. Most of the knowledge out there is scattered across blogs, luthier websites, forums, and bits of old-world craftsmanship—and often the information contradicts itself. So, I’ve gathered as much as I can from both well-known pedal harp makers and independent builders, organizing it by part: the pillar, neck, soundboard, soundbox, pedals, and more. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all manual—it’s a collection of approaches, options, and insights to help you better understand the instrument and find what works best for your build.
